Icy Cold temps are here and Snow is on the way!! We’re ready for the snow that’s coming Sunday into Monday. Depending on actual snow it may be Tuesday before we can get out to the Fairgrounds to pack and roll the new snow. Then it will need to sit and firm up for a day before we can pull the groomer over it. So our current guess for grooming is Wednesday. Check back here or www.blackwaternordic.org for updates. /the grooming team/

Fairgrounds trails groomed and ready for your enjoyment. Our Middle School & High School Nordic teams are out of town at a race this afternoon so it’ll be reasonably quiet out at the Fairgrounds all day. You really should get out for a ski!! No classic tracks yet - snow coverage still too thin. But the skate surface is good. The cold air temps and winter sun are a lovely combination today.

While grooming trails at the Fairgrounds late this AM a very special visitor flew across the south end of the big field. Wow. The trails are all groomed and ready for your skiing enjoyment. Overall snow coverage is thin but it seems the new snow has generally bonded well to the ice underneath (thanks to the excellent packing & rolling of Coach Rothe). Cold weather this week will help conditions firm up even more. Still no classic tracks set as we need more snow depth for that. Enjoy the day. /the grooming squad/
