With temps above freezing ovenight and even early this AM and tomorrow AM our first chance to groom and refresh the Fairgrounds will be SUNDAY AM when temps will be well down in the 20s. In the meantime I'll be out in the saphouse making some more maple syrup. Have a good Friday. Updates here and on the Blackwater Nordic Facebook page /groomer sasquatch/

Fairgrounds trails were groomed this AM. There was a lovely waxing crescent moon in the southern ski and a red glow to the southeast as I hooked up the groomer this AM. Conditions are mixed and variable. Plenty of snow in most places but the strong sun has taken a toll already on the new snow in the back 40. Conditions generally better on the front 1/2 with more spring adventure-like skiing in the back 40 where the trail is rerouted to avoid rapidly disappearing snow cover along the trees. And best to use the cut-through behind the barn - the other one is very very thin. Its spring and we expect that cold mornings and warm afternoons will create grooming challenges. But we've GOT SNOW so hope you get out there and enjoy it while it lasts. /groomer sasquatch/

A lot of new snow out there this AM. But it was only 32 degrees out an hour before sunrise so decided to let it sit. Forecast says a couple degrees colder tomorrow morning so we'll let this snow settle and dry for today then get out there and do something with it Thursday AM. What a crazy spring.
