. Fairgrounds trails were groomed this AM and some classic tracks set also. Thank you Coach Rothe for your time and effort!! Coach Rothe reports conditions are good but still somewhat soft. It'll take another day or two for all that new snow to get really firm. So the skiing is good and we hope you can get out and enjoy it.

That was a LOT of snow we got overnight. The new snow was packed and packed again at the Fairgrounds this AM. A start on grooming was made but temps have climbed above freezing and the nordic grooming manual says that grooming activities should only take place at temps BELOW freezing. Honest. That's in the manual. So now we wait until tomorrow morning when it'll be nice and cold out there. The snow will have set up nicely overnight and it'll groom up beautifully. For now it would be best to avoid skate skiing on the trails. The soft conditions will not be enjoyable for you and it'll leave deep ruts that will be difficult to groom. Best to let the snow solidify. Classic skiiing on the edges is fine (no tracks were set). Updates tomorrow. Note - the BKLers are expected out there at 4PM this afternoon to enjoy this new snow.

We had a little bit of new snow overnight that was groomed this AM. HOWEVER, temps have now climbed above freezing and will remain warm until Thursday morning. We ask for your cooperation and assistance - NO SKATE SKIING on this soft snow. CLASSIC SKIING ONLY. Because skate skiing in soft snow leaves big deep grooves which are VERY hard to groom smooth when things freeze up solid again. Thanks everyone. We'll get back out there Thursday AM and try to smooth it out again. We're doing our best to create and preserve the good skiing. /groomer sasquatch/
