The Fairgrounds was groomed (scratched and smoothed) this morning. I had to give it a try and I think the results are okay. We're well into spring weather even though the official astronomical start was just over 12 hours ago. Strong sun has removed a LOT of snow but there's still a skiable loop or two around the front half. I'll be out at lunchtime when it softens up a bit to give it a spin. With temps in the 50s and rain on Thursday I'm fairly certain we're getting very close to the end of our Fairgrounds ski season. /groomer sasquatch/

The Fairgrounds was groomed this morning by Groomer Jason who reports that the strong sun over the last couple days has worked a disappearing act on much of the recent snow. There's some skiable corduroy on the front trails but this may be the last hurrah. It'll be a cold Sunday so it should hold up okay today But you should get out there and Ski it while you can. Crocuses are in peaking up in the sunshine along the front of my house. So you know that Spring is upon us.

With temps above freezing ovenight and even early this AM and tomorrow AM our first chance to groom and refresh the Fairgrounds will be SUNDAY AM when temps will be well down in the 20s. In the meantime I'll be out in the saphouse making some more maple syrup. Have a good Friday. Updates here and on the Blackwater Nordic Facebook page /groomer sasquatch/
