Callooh! Callay! He chortled in his joy! The weather forecast says 4-8" of snow on the way Thursday night into Friday. It sure would be nice if we're on the heavy end of that range so we can get out to groom snow at the Fairgrounds and create some skiable nordic conditions for everyone. So fingers crossed and do your best snow dance!! /groomer sasquatch/

I stopped by the Fairgrounds this PM to check the tarp covering the big groomer which we leave outside. The tarp was fine but I wish the snow report was different. As I'm sure you can guess its all gone for now. But the COLD will blow in tonite and that's good. We like the ground to be cold and frozen when the snow returns - that makes for a better grooming setup. Enjoy the holidays with friends and family. Be safe out there one and all. /groomer sasquatch/

Winter is officially here as of 4:48PM EST this afternoon. Though the weather forecast isn't bringing us any winter weather in the near term. The Fairgrounds were lightly groomed this morning and its very skiable out there. But watch out for a few rocks and thin spots - best to use the old skis. I expect our Nordic Hawks ski teams will be out there today & tomorrow after school before the big warm up with rain on Friday which is likely to put the grooming squad on the bench for a while until we get more snow. But today and tomorrow will be skiable so enjoy it while you can. /groomer sasquatch - with a trainee this AM/
