Fairgrounds trails were groomed this morning. Brrrrr that's a cold wind blowing out there today. Snow cover in the "Back 40" is generally thinner than in the front section. And the big hill is also very very thin on the front side (it gets a lot of sun). Things groomed up nicely but of course the overall snow cover is not what we'd hope for at this time of year. But we've got some snow so get out there and ski it while we've got it!!! /groomer sasquatch/

Trails at the Fairgrounds were smoothed this morning. Snow cover is a bit thin but there's plenty to ski on. Though not enough to set classic tracks. It was great to see some skiers out today enjoying the day. I expect a busy afternoon with High School and Middle School teams out there as well as BKL. Enjoy your day. /groomer sasquatch/

1/20/2025. Monday - MLK Day. Groomable snow and cold temps are finally here!! But PATIENCE is needed while the grooming squad does its work. It takes time to turn this new snow into a firm skiable surface. About 6" of light new snow fell overnight. Our plan is to pack/roll the new snow today (later this AM) and let it sit. The compressed snow will firm up nicely with the even colder temps moving in today/tonight. Tomorrow AM we'll groom it. I expect our Hopkinton Middle & High School Nordic Teams to be out at the Fairgrounds after school tomorrow along with the younger skiers - the BKL group - to enjoy the first local nordic skiing of the winter. /groomer sasquatch/
