We'll try to give the Fairgrounds a round of grooming (scraping) tomorrow morning. The super warm days and rain we had mid-week took a toll on our snow cover. But we might be able to scrape out a skiable path around the front - not likely into the back 40. The forecast starting Tuesday is for temps well up into the 50s again which suggests that our nordic season is rapidly coming to the end. And I can say that as a small time maple syrup producer I'm not too happy with this March forecast either. Its too warm too fast. I'm afraid its going to be a very short sugar season. But as with the snow, we'll try to do our best with what Mother Nature delivers. I'll post an update Sunday morning. Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead an hour tonite. /groomer sasquatch/

Fairgrounds Trails Closed due to warm temps and rain. Please no skiing on the soft snow. Looks like cold temps return Friday night. So we'll evaluate on Saturday and see if we can return to skiable conditions. Send some positive energy to our Hopkinton Hawks Nordic Teams who are skiing in their State Championship meets up at Great Glen Trails at the base of Mt Washington today. GO HAWKS!!!!

Fairgrounds trails were groomed today. It took a lot of time and many trips around to slowly scratch down into the very very hard surface to create a loose granular skate lane surface. Also time and effort to scratch out the old frozen classic tracks and set some new ones was accomplished. Overall things are in very good shape at the moment. We recommend you get out there to ski today and/or tomorrow. We'll close the trails Wed as temps climb and rain returns. And hope that the snow holds until the cold returns and we can regroom again. Its spring conditions and we're hopeful we can continue to provide some okay skiing for a while longer.
