Important membership changes
Date Posted: 11/21/2019
The 2019-20 ski season is coming into focus. How fortunate we are to have some of southern New Hampshire’s best Nordic skiing right here in our backyard in Hopkinton. We are very optimistic that we can again add the Fairgrounds back to our venues. We are making every effort to meet the requirements set by the Fairgrounds Board
As a result, we can no longer accept online liability release forms. Until we are comfortable with these new procedures, we’ve temporarily suspended online registration. We also are required to have a signed liability form for each Blackwater Nordic member who is covered by a membership; in other words, each family member needs to fill out and sign a form, or have a form filled out and signed by a parent or guardian.
In the coming winter, we will again be grooming trails at Gould Hill Farm, Houston Fields and, we believe, the Hopkinton Fairgrounds. In addition, we'll offer Bill Koch League (BKL) lessons, activities for children, Masters’ skiing and night skiing. In other words, we will make every effort to provide a great Nordic experience to our members and the foundation on which our very successful local school Nordic ski teams are built.
All of these opportunities are created and maintained by the Blackwater Nordic Ski Club. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that is entirely dependent on membership dues, donations, and the time invested by our volunteers.
With this in mind, we ask you support us by becoming a member. You may download the membership application and liability forms from our website's Files and Forms Menu and send them to:
Emily O'Rourke, 45 Penacook Rd., Contoocook, NH 03229.
Once again, our members receive discounts on Nordic ski equipment and clothing from our friends at S&W Sports in Concord. You can show your BWN membership confirmation email to obtain the discount at S&W Sports.
Thank you for supporting Blackwater Nordic!
